It was in a very good location ,a few minutes walk from the whole sightseeings.Breakfast good enough,no complain about it.Staff kind enough, especially the Greek boy very kind!!
Very old decoration of the room ,needs some kind of renovation.Maybe it was clean enough to stay in but due to the old walls ,curtains, bath etc,you can't easily understand that it is clean. There were towels but those were full of hair from the previous guests ,so you couldn't use them all. There was no shampoo as it is normal in other hotels. No lift, elevator for so many floors to go on foot and with luggage. Not cheap for its facilities,we have stayed in better ones and cheaper, especially in Germany.
We were so disgusted with this hotel. It was filthy. Cigarette holes in bedspread. Carpet so stained that we would only walk on it with shoes on for fear of catching something.Bathroom a real health hazzard. Toilet sistern broken & you could see filthy water. Black insect parts falling from ceiling onto bed. Staff indifferent to our request for a change of room or even replenishing toilet paper & towels. Breakfast was included in tarriff but inedible. We should be entitled to a refund. Rooms grossly over priced.
Nothing it was a horrible hotel.
It was extremely dirty and run down. The breakfast was very very basic. Our window opened up to an area filled with garbage. The toilet smelled like a public toilet and didn't have a hand towel. The shower was also very dirty especially the shower curtain. Along with the fact that shower didn't work properly and we were very hesitant to use it. Towels and bedding were not supplied on arrival and when we queried about this we were told we would not receive them until after 7. We were not notified of the fact that the towels had arrived and had to ask for them again. Plus when we asked for an extra towel there was quote "only so many". Which mean't that we only had one towel each with no hand towel and no towel to stand on when we got out of the shower. For €75 a night we expected a lot more than we got and will never stay in this hotel again.
the rooms are smaller, bads are too old, there is no shampoo and hair dryer...
The staff were polite and allowed us to use their kettle and mugs to make our own coffee in our room.
The staff were polite and tried to accommodate us. They did not have the correct information concerning our reservation, although my copy stated extactly what we had requested. We were moved from 1 room to another after we had unpacked. The rooms 'felt' dirty and the bathroom had a very strong mildew odour. Our request for towels was not adhered to until 11 o'clock that night. The telephone in the room did not work so I had to climb 3 sets of narrow steps every time we enquired about our towels. When we eventually got 3 'hand' towels, they were still damp, and I suppose you could call them off-white. When I received an international call, I had to go to the front desk (down those stairs) and speak without any privacy. It was also very noisy throughout the night with guests coming at all hours. The tv remote was chained to the wall & was broken. No room service during our stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The hotel is in a bit of a run down state and could do with a bit of a makeover, we were disappointed in the quality of the rooms
The hotel was located in a pretty and quiet street and the room was spacious.
The room did not look clean and there was a strong smell of cigarettes when we arrived. The bed was hard and lumpy, the easy chair was broken, the curtain rods were broken as well. Breakfast was ok.
The location. The building was classical for Amsterdam, but in very bad condition. The place for breakfast was nice.
Holes everywhere - on the carpet, the walls, the doors, the sheets...The blankets were very old and dirty. Moisture on the ceiling..
Great location. Friendly staff. Basic but ok breakfast.
Decor needs refreshing. Miserable outlook of very dilapidated rooms which staff presumably have to sleep in. Possibly the most bizarre display case items I've come across in a hotel lobby!
Staff helpfulness Homely comfort... the small breakfast area Easy location Staff care.. giving us first floor, as we had 2 kids
Price .. about 25% too high
Rooms very old, not clean, and the breakfast was very very poor, the staff wasnt helpfully, the worst was the bathroom was very dusty... the price was crazy for the result. Never i will come back.
Excellent quiet location, near Rembrandtplein and trams. Breakfast was adequate and the staff are nice.
The bathrooms (we stayed in two different rooms) are a real health hazard. The whole thing needs retiling. There isn't even a hook to hang a towel or a toilet roll holder. Their were holes in the bed sheets and the carpets are old and look dirty. I had to unplug the bedside table lamp in order to switch it off. It is too expensive for the poor quality provided. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls. There is no comfort and the rooms are sinister looking. Of course I did read the reviews and they were not good. I know Amsterdam is expensive, but having said that this hotel needs some serious refurbishment, they need to move into the 21st century.
A good location on a picturesque canal and only a 15 minute walk to centraal station.
The hallways needed a coat of paint and there was no hot water all the time I was there. Also the flush button on the toilet was broken. Not very good.
We loved the complimentary coffee, tea and juice as well as the breakfast which consisted of egg, toast and a good selection of ham. The location is also excellent - 15 mins stroll to main Damsquare.
There was only one staircase serving the 4 floors and it was very narrow, so pack light. Secondly, the rooms were run down and we found a rat in our bathroom.
The staff was helpful and the location was good to walk around Amsterdam.
Mouse in our room!!! Around four in the morning we heard rustling in our room - long story short - it was a mouse running around. Not what you want with two kids in your room. We were given 30 Euro off of our room but I don't think it compensated for the trauma. Towels were not available when we checked in - they were delivered when we were out but they were all damp - had to be hung up around the room. Window sheers were torn - sheets on bed were torn. Staying here definitely put a negative twist on our experience. Would not recommend.
